Have You Got A Hiking Partner?

If hiking is your favourite choice of pastime, it could be a problem if you haven't got a hiking partner to enjoy the experience with. People like to go hiking with others because, lets face it, doing it on your own can get a bit lonesome. Interestingly, there are many websites devoted to hiking and, more specifically, websites dedicated to finding a hiking partner for others. It's like Match.com, but with slightly less romance and a lot more exertion.

Having said that, there are also websites which specialise in uniting hiking partners, for those that want more than just fresh air. If you’re single and love hiking, there are other people just like you and this is a great way to find that special hiking partner, not just for one adventure, but for a lifetime's adventure...

Perhaps the popularity of finding a hiking partner online is testament to the love of hiking and the fact more people are venturing out and about. Ten years ago you wouldn't have expected websites solely dedicated to hiking, but the Internet is a wonderful and varied place. The age of convenience has taken on a whole new meaning, and it probably won't be long before you can design your own partner online, or something equally scary!

In the meantime though, we recommend you start your search for your ideal hiking partner so you can get the summer sorted in advance. The weather might be bad now, but in a few months you'll want to get outdoors and see the sights.

Hi-Tec doesn't offer hiking partners, but we do offer hiking shoes. So, when you have found your perfect partner you can get yourself kitted out with the perfect shoes.

  12. Everest Trekking
Everest Trek region of Nepal is one of the best known treks in the world. This is the land of the Sherpa people and the world's great 8,000 meter peaks. Many trekkers walk in from the road head at Jiri, through the lovely rolling hills of the Solu region. Others fly in to the village of Lukla to start their trek. A few days above Lukla is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park and the town of Namche Bazaar, where most trekkers take a day to acclimatize to the high altitude. From here one may branch towards the village of Thame or continue on to take on of the two main Khumbu routes, to Gokyo Lake or towards the Everest base camp. Beyond Namche Bazaar is the Sherpa village of Khumjung and further on the famous monastery of Thyangboche. Here the Mani Rimdu festival of dances is celebrated every year.

The company exists to promote and share with others the diverse geographical beauty as well as the cultural wealth of our homeland, Nepal, as well as that of some of our neighbours, such as Tibet and Bhutan. Upon arrival, guests to our country are then also captivated by the interplay of the majestic mountainous landscapes with the overriding hospitality of the Nepali people. Our rich spiritual life and our many vibrantly joyous customs are born of the melding of the Hindu and Buddhist cultures which have co existed here side by side for centuries. This adds a mystical dimension to most travelers’ experiences in Nepal. It is this interplay of magnificent landscapes, of friendly and welcoming people from many different ethnic backgrounds and the complex, beautiful overlay of religious rites and cultural practices that make a sojourn in Nepal a life – enhancing, sometimes even life changing, experience for all.

Our company is proud to be able to show overseas visitors all facets of our beautiful land, through stunning mountain treks, at both lower and higher altitudes, depending on our guests’ interests and their physical capacities, to wild life safaris in the Terai, on the plains or rafting on mighty rivers.
